  • Refer patients with PTSD to a psychotherapist experienced in posttraumatic stress therapies, specifically cognitive-behavioral therapy, exposure therapy, and trauma-related anxiety management.
  • Consider referral for family therapy if significant distress or conflict exists in the family.
