Hospitalize patients with suspected WNV for complications requiring fluid management, ventilator assistance, and/or seizure treatment. C

  • Hospitalize patients with WNV encephalitis for:
    • Intravenous fluids for fluid and electrolyte management
    • Ventilator assistance for respiratory insufficiency
    • Management of cerebral edema
    • Observation and treatment of seizures
    • Consideration of other diseases that present with ascending motor paralysis with or without sensory deficit
